But there are many interesting things about a baby’s walking that may be new to many parents. Here are a few.
1. First Steps
Even though you are not anticipating it eagerly, you may have been asked about whether your baby has taken her first steps or not.
Well, your little princess is likely to start walking any time between 9 and 12 months. Till then give her plenty of toys from Tiny Tiny Shop Shop and let her enjoy life.
2. The Sequence is the Same for Every Kid
Your child won’t start walking suddenly one day. The development of children has a particular sequence and it’s the same for every kid.
Sitting: Your baby will first learn to use the muscles in his trunk to sit and stay in that position at around 6 months of age.
Trying to Stand by Pulling: The age for this may vary a bit, but usually occur by tenth month of age. Since 70% of our body mass is located in hips and above, legs have to have plenty of strength to lift the body.
Cruising: Here too the timing may vary, but when she will do it, she’ll grab whatever object she finds in the room to move around.
3. The Amazing Action of Walking
Finally the amazing action of walking will occur when your little prince will learn to lift one foot off and balance on the other.
He will stretch his arms and take a wide stance which is characteristic to all babies learning to walk.
For standing, he’ll have to contract several muscles; however, for walking, he has to relax his knees and hips a little.
It’s challenging to figure out just the right amount of tension in leg muscles. But he’ll learn it quickly and will rush around the house.
4. Don’t Worry if Your Child Lags Behind
Only if your baby doesn’t start walking till 16 months of age, you should talk to your doctor. Otherwise, even if other kids in your child’s playgroup are walking and yours is sitting, don’t worry.
You can always give him baby walking toys from Tiny Tiny Shop Shop if he loves them. But don’t pressurise the child to walk.

5. Walking may Give Hints about Your Kid’s Personality
Several parents whose child starts walking early start dreaming that their child will become a star sportsperson.
Well, early or late walking may or may not indicate that the child will become a sportsperson or not, but can tell something about her personality whether she’ll be a risk taker or wait-and-watch type.
Children who have a risk taking mentality normally start walking early without worrying about falls. These children are likely to take decisions and start action fast when they grow up.
On the other hand kids, who are not risk takers, walk late because they want to make sure there won’t be any falls or other dangers. These kids are likely to be contemplative in the future.
While walking is the most anticipated action for parents from their newborns, it’s also fun to wait for the moment and enjoy it when it takes place, without thinking about anything else.
